Couldn't agree more, the special effects were absolutely incredible. This trilogy phenomenon started with the Lord of the Rings and the Matrix. The package deal ends up saving the studios boat loads of money but its still a hefty investment. Why not build in a little insurance with a cliff hanger.

Don't think I'll be returning any time soon. I did see Pirates this weekend and liked it until the end. If there is one thing I can't stand about a movie is when it strings me along for 2.5 hours only to offer no resolution in an effort to get me to see the 3rd installment. Reminds me of the Matrix trilogy... The first movie is awesome and stands on its own, the second is okay but doesn't resolve anything-just gives you a lot of eye candy, and the third is complete and utter junk...

Sounds like an all in one leg, ab, and lower back workout to me. I saw Pirates this weekend; I'm curious to know what you thought of it if/when you return to the imax.
